Australia Gallery - Cornflower Collection
And this time, I am going to feature the cornflower from sunny Brissie (Brisbane). The flowers are in the pretty shade of cornflower blue made famous by the Duchess of Cambridge's dress! My first cornflower from the Woolworths seedlings opened completely at the end of September. To start with, I had eight seedlings but only one survived. It took six months to get there.
Now it is almost the end of November. The cornflower is nearing the end of its lifecycle. I am going to feature photos of the cornflower at different stages of its growth. The photos were taken over several weeks either early in the morning or in the afternoon. I was also experimenting with the light settings on the camera.

First bud. Reminds me of a peacock.

First sight of the blue petals.

Naming this photo Peacock Blue because it still reminds me of a peacock and the cornflower blue petals are at the tip now.

In full bloom.

There is an aura around the cornflower, achieved by adjusting the light settings on my camera.

The seed pod is all brown now but still pretty. And if you look closely, there is a tiny streak of cornflower blue still hanging on.
